10 the most expensive and valuable antique items

The antiques items have always been very expensive because they are our heritage and reminder of past centuries and grand people. There are a lot of such objects in the world, but now I will tell you about the most expensive and the most valuable items, which were sold in the latest 20 years. So, this is my list of 10 high-priced objects of antiques:

1.The vase of Qing dynasty
oriental-qianlong-vaseThe amazing porcelain vase was made in 18th century especially for Qianlong Emperor. This item of antiques, which has very complicated patterns and is perfectly preserved, was sold for a huge amount of money – 83 million of dollars.

2. Badminton cabinet
This rare piece of furniture was created in 18th century. The Badminton Chest is over 12 feet tall and is made of black wood, silver-gilt and semi-precious stones. In 2004, this antique item was sold to the Prince of Liechtenstein for $32 million.

3. The Codex Leicester
The Codex Leicester, also known as Codex Hammer, is a collection of scientific writings by Leonardo da Vinci. The manuscript, which contains 72 pages of various Leonardo’s observations on different sciences, has been bought by Bill Gates for almost 21 million of dollars.

4. Eileen Gray armchair
d5171305lThis beautiful leather armchair was made by a talented designer Eileen Gray in the period between 1917 and 1919. This item of antiques is considered to be one of the most expensive pieces of furniture. It was sold for $28,3 million.

5. The Lady Blunt Stradivarius violin
220px-lady_blunt_topThe Lady Blunt violin, which got its name after one of its first owners, was made in 1721 by a famous luthier Antonio Stradivari. The violin, which is one of the best-preserved Stradivarius instruments, was sold for almost 16 million of dollars.

6. A Germain silver soup-tureen
This interesting item of antiques was made for Louis XV by Thomas Germain in France in 1733. The silver soup-tureen, which was sold for more than 10 million of dollars, is one of the few objects which survived the French Revolution and that’s why it’s so valuable.

7. 18th Century Boateng Saber
This medieval weapon is considered to be the most expensive one. The sword, which probably belonged to the Quianlong emperor, is decorated with Mosaic gold, copper and silver. In 2008, the weapon was auctioned for 7,7 million of dollars.

8. Harrington Commode
Harrington Commode is supposed to be crafted by English cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale in 1770. This piece of furniture, which was sold for almost $6 million, is the most expensive furniture object made in UK.

9. A Rococo-style pier table
The presented item of antiques was made by Thomas Tufft in the late 1700s. The table has a pierced fretwork as well as long legs with ball-and-claw feet. The piece of furniture was sold for 4,6 million of dollars at Christie’s auction.

10. Honus Wagner baseball card
